Welcome to Family Craft Studio
Who we are…
Hey guys! I’m Diana, the crafter behind Family Craft Studio. I mostly stick with crocheting, but I’ll be doing a bit of everything and sharing my progress, finds, and patterns or tutorials.
But I’m not the only maker floating around this blog! While I do most of the writing, the crafts, DIYs, and patterns and tutorials shared will come from me and some other members of my family. A name you’ll likely see often is Mitzie, my cousin. She and I tackle plenty of projects together.
But other names will pop up too: my mother, my husband, my aunts, my cousins, and if I can manage stealing anyone else for a bit, they’ll be featured too.
How we got started…
Creativity is important to my family. Whether it was to allow for adaptability in tough or unexpected circumstances, to innovate to solve problems with different perspectives, or to give us tools to find ourselves, creativity has had a lasting impact on how my family developed.
It allowed us to adapt from one place to another when the older generation moved to a new country. To figure out our way around new experiences, limited resources, and changing health at home. To give us outlets for the things that we try to make sense of inside. And to allow us to show our affection with special items made with our own hands. Heheh, it’s probably why we like to feed everyone that comes to one of our homes. “You’re awesome! Have some cookies!”
One of the most tangible ways I can show you my family’s relationship with creativity is by showing you the amazing things they make. This blog is a place I want to collect my family’s handiwork and share it.
