Chunky Crochet Half-Stitch Cowl Pattern

Chunky Crochet Half-Stitch Cowl Pattern

Chunky Crochet Half-Stitch Cowl

I needed a quick project! So I grabbed an old crochet pattern for a chunky cowl. It’s been a while since I’ve whipped one of these up, but spotting my old one in the closet reminded me how easy it was to make.

Crocheting this cowl was a fast project. I think I’ll make several more to give away, though I think I’ll customize each one a bit more with different widths and heights.

Pick up your hook and bulky yarn, and let’s get stitching!

((Note: When I start any instructions down below, I will begin with US English instructions and put the UK English instructions after.))

Materials

Materials:

8.00mm hook (US-L/11; UK/Canada-0)
super bulky weight (super bulky weight in US; super chunky yarn in UK; 16-ply in Australia)

Yarns I Used:

Big Twist Yarns Natural Blends in natural blend aged brass

Note and Abbreviations

Notes:

  1. This pattern is worked in rounds.
  2. Add as many rounds as you would like to make the cowl “taller”, this means repeating the last two steps of instructions until you get the desired height.
  3. The numbers in the brackets at the end of each instruction show how many stitches you should have at the end of the rounds.
