Crochet Field Scarf

Another day, another scarf! With the weather turning and the holidays giving an excuse to make stuff, I sifted through my patterns for another quick and cozy scarf.

This pattern stitches up fast, especially once you get a rhythm going. And with rows being only the width, each one is short enough not to lose count easily as you go.

So grab your hook and yarn, and let’s get started!

((Note: When I start any instructions down below, I will begin with US English instructions and put the UK English instructions after.))

Materials

Materials:

5.5mm hook (US-I/9; UK/Canada-5)
medium weight yarn (worsted weight in US; Aran yarn in UK; 10-ply in Australia)

Yarns I’ve Used:

Lion Brand Yarn Heartland in grand canyon and Deborah Norville Everyday in northern lights

Notes and Abbreviations

Notes:

  1. This pattern will be worked in short rows, and the rows will be repeated to the desired length of the scarf.
  2. If you so choose, the pattern can also be made in long rows to the desired length, and rows can be added to the desired width of the scarf.
  3. Numbers at the end of the instructions: In brackets “[ ]” will be the total stitch count for that row/round.
  4. The first chain in each row does NOT count as your first stitch, so don’t skip your first stitch.
  5. You will always begin each row with a single crochet (UK: double crochet) and will end the row with a double crochet (UK: treble crochet). This is important so that each stitch lines up with the one below. Every SC (UK: DC) will be done in the DC (UK: TR) of the previous row, and each DC (UK: TR) done will be in the SC (UK: DC) of the previous row.
